Y1 Traditional Tales

The children have really enjoyed learning about traditional tales this half term so we decided to bake some gingerbread houses. This activity gave the children so many lovely learning opportunities whilst having huge amounts of fun!

Y1 Remembrance Day

The year 1 children have been busy this week studying what has been inside our 'Curiosity Cube'. There have been army tankers and medals. We talked about what we already know about Remembrance Day and then we enjoyed the year 5 Remembrance Assembly. After that we made our own poppies and wrote about Remembrance Day.

Year 1 Lytham Hall Trip

We had a fantastic time on our first trip in Year 1 to Lytham Hall. We were looking for signs of autumn and we had an autumn talk from Greg who owns The Gardening Hub at Lytham Hall. We walked all the way there and all the way back! The adults were super impressed with all the children!

Reception in the Garden

This week we have been busy creating Hapazome art work with leaves and petals, making nature bracelets and building dens for our little woodland creatures. We have had so much fun!

Year 1 Computer Room

This week we have loved using the computer room! We sat with our learning partners and played a game. We were learning how to use a computer mouse.

Reception Pine Cone Bird Feeders

We enjoyed getting messy today in order to help feed the birds, now that the weather is getting colder. We used our fingers to squash lard into our pine cones and then we pressed wild bird seed in too. We used twine to create a loop and have taken them home to hang in our chosen places. We are excited to see which birds come to enjoy them!

Reception Nature Learning

We had a brilliant time in our school garden, working as a team to collect leaves and pick apples. We focused on our communication and teamwork. We think we did a brilliant job!

Busy Learners

This week in year 1 we have been very busy in our areas of learning. We have loved practising our spellings using the letter conkers and consolidating our number skills in our maths area.

The children have been super busy working together to create a beautiful Autumn display. We have been thinking a lot about the changes we have noticed around us as we move from Summer to Autumn.

Our Special Books

Our RE topic for this half term focuses on the Bible and why it is such a special book. To kick start our new topic, we all brought in our own special book from home and shared it with the rest of the class.

Windmill Art

As part of our new topic 'A Place Where We Live', we have sketched our local landmark - Lytham Windmill. Mrs Norman worked SO hard creating an amazing giant windmill for our topic display. We are very grateful and we absolutely love it!
