Year 4
I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome all the Year 4 children and families into our class this year. Homework
Homework goes home on a Friday and is collected in and marked the following Friday. There will be times tables and a Maths or English task. Additionally, the children have access to various websites including TimesTables Rockstars and timestables.co.uk.
Reading Books
The children are encouraged to read appropriate novels and non-fiction books regularly. They should record this in their school diary and aim to have this signed by a parent/carer at least three times a week. Reading records are collected in and checked every Friday.
Worship and Reflection Areas
We have a dedicated worship and reflection area in class. Here, children are encouraged to spend time reflecting upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and to consider how they fulfil each of our Christian values both at school and at home.
Before and After School
At the beginning of the school day, before registration (8:45am – 8:55am depending on arrival time) the children will have different maths, reading and SPAG activities to complete. These are focused on practising the skills they have learnt previously.
School finishes at 3:30pm. In Year 4, children are to be collected from the classroom door.
General Reminders
• Our PE days are Wednesday and Thursday. Please ensure the children have the appropriate kit for each day and that it is clearly labelled.
• The children will also need their own water bottle in school, which they have access to all day. Please make sure that they are clearly labelled.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me, either after school when collecting your child, on Class Dojo, or by arranging a more formal appointment with the school office.
