Reading Books
In Year 2, children are encouraged to read appropriate novels and non-fiction books regularly. This usually consists of our school banded reading scheme, however they are encouraged to read other age appropriate books. They are given time each day to read at school and we aim for them to read every evening at home. They should record this in their school reading diary. They also have the opportunity to visit the school library on a weekly basis, where they can choose a reading for pleasure book.
Worship and Reflection Areas
We have a dedicated worship and reflection area in class. Here the children are encouraged to spend time reflecting upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and consider how they fulfil each of our Christian values both at school and at home.

At the beginning of the school day, before registration (8:45am – 8:55am depending on arrival time) the children will have different activities to complete. These are focused on settling the children into school and may consists of revision and practising the skills they have learnt previously.
