- Summer 1 – Wind In The Willows
- Summer 2 – Buckets and Spades
For more details on these, please see our termly topic overviews. Which can be found here:
The 2022 KS1 SATs will take place during May 2022. More information will be available nearer the time.
Homework will be given out on a Friday and is due back in the following Wednesday. In Year 2 this will include a Mathematical activity that focuses on their revision of learnt skills or a writing/SPAG activity. Additionally the children have weekly phonics and spellings to learn.
In Year 2, children are encouraged to read appropriate novels and non-fiction books regularly. These are focused around our school banded reading scheme and help support their reading development. They are given time to read at school each week and we aim for them to read regularly at home. They should record this in their school diary and aim to have this signed by a parent three times a week.
Worship and Reflection Areas
We have a dedicated worship and reflection area in class. Here the children are encouraged to spend time reflecting upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and consider how they fulfil each of our Christian values both at school and at home.
Before and After School
At the beginning of the school day, before registration (8:40am – 8:55am depending on arrival time) the children will have activities to complete. These are focused on settling them into the school day and may include revision and practising the skills they have learnt previously.
School finishes at 3:30pm. In Year 2, children must be collected from the KS1 playground by a parent or appropriate adult.
Our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday. Please ensure the children have the appropriate kit for each day.
The children will also need their own water bottle in school, which they have access to all day, please make sure that they are clearly labelled.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me, either after school when collecting your child, on Class Dojo, or by arranging a more formal appointment with the school office.
We know that by working together your child with continue to shine and “Grow with God”.
